Arthritis is a fairly common illness caused by a metabolic disorder, trauma or nonspecific infectious arthritis. It causes deformed changes in the tissues of the joints and surrounding bone organizations.
What is joint disease?
Arthritis is a fairly serious disease that affects joints. With this disease, the joints are damaged and the surrounding bones thicken. Pain occurs with exertion, and decreases with rest.
Arthritis of the knee, which has quite different etiology, does not cause the inflammatory process, so it does not manifest as edema and redness, as opposed to arthritis or polyarthritis.
It should be noted that among patients a lot of women have the disease - varicose veins and obesity.
Why did it happen?
Osteoarthritis is an unpredictable disease that occurs because:
- Overload
- Traumas
- Genetic Trends
- Obesity
- Flat feet
How is the disease determined?
Degenerative knee osteoarthritis - the first stage of the disease can be treated promptly before the joint can function. In the early stages, movement is limited and joint areas begin to flare. It is almost impossible to detect knee effusion, treatment methods are quite varied, at this stage: X-ray will not clearly see the ingrown bone cavities. The main signs are sharpening of the joint and narrowing the distance between joints, the doctor can detect on examination. To clarify the diagnosis, an additional examination of the ultrasound and MRI of the joints is prescribed.
Usually, patients notice a tingling sensation in the joint and a scratching sound when moving. Pain that occurs after rest and when walking quickly passes. Such "onset" pains are manifested by friction of the joints, on which the destruction of cartilage and bones (debris) subsides.
In the early stages, joint disease does not cause significant inconvenience, so the patient does not pay attention to the symptoms that have arisen. Therefore, if there is any doubt about knee effusion, it is necessary to initiate treatment immediately.
Arthritis Treatment
Before you start fighting illness, try to find a good doctor and, after a full exam, make a plan for your joint treatment. Do not diagnose the disease yourself, it may only make the situation worse. There are many similar diseases, so without examination you may be confused in the definition of the disease.
When making a diagnosis of osteoarthritis of the knee, treatment will be indicated depending on the stage of the disease. In the early stages, when the joints are more or less conserved, it is recommended to initiate drug therapy with a chondroprotective protection drug. These days they are presented in a fairly wide range. Regardless of the choice, the drug is administered for up to 6 months. After six months, the course of treatment should be repeated again. Duration of treatment is 3 to 5 years.
It should be noted that creams and ointments are not likely to degenerate patients, but they can relieve pain. Warm medicines should be used for better blood circulation.
For those with a confirmed diagnosis of fibrosis of the knee, treatment can only be prescribed by the attending physician. They are encouraged to perform health exercises daily and adhere to an integrated diet. Try not to overload your joints. Doing so can negatively affect your health. After recovery, try to gradually increase the load and avoid pain.
